Materials

The material makes the object.

Seven materials, each with its own character. Which one suits your project is something we settle at the quote stage at the latest. If your part has to stand outdoors, flex or take some punishment, I will tell you beforehand what I think of it. That is not a promise about how long it will last in use.

PLA

Item 01

Bioplastic made from renewable raw materials. Dimensionally accurate, clean in the detail, the friendly all-rounder.

Decoration · Models · Everyday use

PETG

Item 02

Tough, slightly flexible and weatherproof. My default whenever a part really has to work instead of only looking good.

Functional parts · Mounts

TPU A95

Item 03

Elastic and hard-wearing: it bends instead of breaking. The only material that cannot be combined in the AMS.

Seals · Covers · Dampers

ABS

Item 04

Impact-resistant and heat-resistant. For parts that take more than a place on the shelf.

Technical components

ASA-X

Item 05

UV-stable and weather-resistant: it does not fade outdoors and does not turn brittle.

Garden · Balcony · Outdoor use

Special PLA

Item 06

Glitter, neon, silky, transparent or glow-in-the-dark, for when the object is allowed to stand out.

Effects · One-offs · Gifts

R-PLA / R-PETG

Item 07

Recycled filaments: the same work, just with material that already has one life behind it.

The sustainable choice

Ten identical ship hull parts in two rows, each in a different filament, from turquoise through transparent and anthracite to glitter green and copper pink
Fig. 02Sample row · stock varies Ten identical parts, ten filaments: the same model looks different in every material.
Close-up of a glitter-green model with clearly visible silvery mica particles in the surface
Fig. 03Special PLA Glitter: particles in the filament, not paint.
Milky transparent model with a clearly visible layer structure, behind it a strong violet model out of focus
Fig. 04Special PLA Transparent: the light shows every layer.
A ship model in glow-in-the-dark filament glows green in a darkened room and casts a green light onto the surface beneath
Fig. 05Special PLA · Glow Glow: charges up in the light and keeps glowing in the dark.

Item 03 Advice

The honest assessment first

Material, strength, feasibility: I tell you plainly what works and what does not, including when FDM is the wrong process for your project, or 3D printing in general. Better a clear no than a part that fails.

  • TopicsMaterial - design - feasibility

Process

Four steps on a timeline.

Before anything is printed, you know the price. After that everything runs through one channel, directly with me and without any middlemen.

  1. Send your enquiry

Fill in the form and upload the file or link to it. If you do not have one yet, a sketch or a photo is enough for a design job.

Questions beforehand? The most common answers

  2. Receive the quote

Without obligation and fairly calculated, with a fixed price: for printing from the amount of material and the print time, for design from the design time.

  3. Production

Printing usually 1–4 days, design 1–7 days.

On larger projects you get interim updates before the work continues.

    Which material? All materials

  4. Collection or shipping

In person in Munich by arrangement, or anywhere in Germany with DHL GoGreen, as a letter or a parcel. You pay the quoted amount by PayPal or bank transfer; I will issue an invoice on request.
